Mustangs Down Hawks
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men's basketball team defeated the Harrisburg Area Community College Hawks 81-60 on Tuesday, Jan. 25.
The Mustangs opened the game to lead 18-8 within the first five minutes. Dominating with pressure and speed, the Mustangs earned steals and forced turnovers, thrusting themselves to a 51-34 advantage by half.
In the second half the Hawks were able to keep pace with the Mustangs, but could not pull out the scoring necessary to make up the deficit. The Mustangs maintained roughly a 20-point lead for the full 20 minutes of the second half.
Top scorers for the Mustangs included Joshua Ingram with 19, Dan Drennen with 16 and Adam Jones with 12. Each athlete on the Mustangs squad earned at least two rebounds, team leaders were Phillip Michaels and Maleek Singleton with six apiece.
The Mustangs are now 20-3 overall and 13-2 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference.
