Women's Basketball Struggles Against Penn State Lehigh

Women's basketball hosted Penn State Lehigh on Saturday. The Mustangs were looking at an uphill battle against the Nittany Lions, as the Penn State sattelite campus is a four-year college. Not only that, but their division, the USCAA, allows for up to four years of eligibility, meaning that some Penn State athletes could have up to two more years of experience than the most experienced Mustang.

Penn State's experience certainly showed early, as they built a very large lead in the first half. Unfortunately for Montgomery, they continued to build on their lead, making the game an almost insurmountable challenge in heading into the fourth quarter. Despite their best efforts, the Mustangs fell 83-27.

Despite the loss, Yasmin Gant (SO, Upper Merion) still played well, grabbing 9 points and 12 rebounds. Next on the schedule for the Mustangs is Luzerne County Community College on Tuesday.
