Montco Basketball Teams Tip Off “Hoops for Hunger” Campaign to Support Students in Need
This month, Montgomery County Community College's men's and women's basketball teams are joining forces for a meaningful cause through their Hoops for Hunger campaign. As the Mustangs hit the court, they're also working to fight food insecurity among Montco students.
Throughout November, both teams are collecting fridge-free, ready-to-eat healthy foods and snacks to stock Montco's food pantries and support students who may be struggling to access nutritious meals. Fans and community members can participate by bringing non-perishable food items to home games or by scanning the QR code on campaign materials to make a monetary donation.
"Supporting our teammates and classmates off the court is just as important as supporting each other on the court," said a member of the Mustangs basketball program. "Hoops for Hunger is our way of giving back and helping ensure no student has to go hungry."
Join the Mustangs this season as they take their shot at ending hunger—one game, one donation, and one student at a time.
How to Help:
-
Bring fridge-free, ready-to-eat foods and snacks to any Montco basketball home game this month.
-
Scan the QR code on the campaign flyer to contribute a monetary donation directly to Montco's student food support programs.
Together, we can make a difference—on and off the court.
