Baseball falls 8-1 to Lehigh Carbon

Montgomery traveled to Lehigh Carbon on Tuesday to take on the Cougars. However, the Mustangs never really got the bats going. Aaron Benner's RBI that brought Luke Deleo home in the first inning gave Montgomery a quick lead. However, this would be the only run scored by the Mustangs in the game, despite grabbing 9 hits. Lehigh Carbon however, would begin building a slow lead in the third, scoring 3 runs. The Cougars would score in all but two innings after that, eventually winning the game 8-1.

Even with four errors, 7 out of the Cougars' 8 runs were earned. The 12 batters left on base was what really killed the Mustangs' chances at victory, as bringing even a few of those in would have drastically changed the feel of the game. This loss drops Montgomery to 8-12 overall.
