Powerful Hitting leads Baseball Past Bucks

The Bucks County Centurions traveled to take on a red hot Montgomery team on Saturday. Montgomery came into the game winning four out of their last five games by an average 5.25 margin of victory. The Mustangs continued that momentum by hamering home a few runs in the second inning. Adrian Grow's sacrifice fly that brought Alex Bernhard in made it a 4-0 score in the top of the third.

However, the Mustangs wouldn't be getting off that easy, and Bucks picked up three of their own in the fourth. Not to be outdone, Logan Curley, Luke Deleo and Will Brownlowe all grabbed an RBI to match the inning (Curley's 6th in 8 games). But, in what would prove to be a truly back and forth game, Bucks scored four more runs in the fifth and sixth innings, tying the game at 7 apiece.

If you thought the Mustangs would back down from a challenge like that, especially with a playoff and EPAC championship spot on the line, you would be wrong. An angry Montgomery baseball team exploded for 9 runs in the seventh and eighth innings, including 4 RBIs from Tyler Groff over that span. While Bucks did manage to grab a run in the top of the ninth, they were unable to match the firepower from the Mustangs. Montgomery finished the last few batters off and won the game 18-6

This brings Baseball to a 13-13 record overall and keeps their playoff and EPAC chances alive heading into Monday's game against Lehigh Carbon.

Key Stats:
