Bucks Sweeps Baseball in Doubleheader
Baseball traveled to Bucks County Community College on Saturday to take on the Centurions in a doubleheader. Although the weather wasn't the best, the team was still ready to go come game time.
In game one, the Mustangs hit the ball extremely well. Starting pitcher Matt Ahmad (SO, Pope John Paul) had 5 RBIs on only 3 hits. He also scored two runs. However, despite scoring four runs in the seventh inning, the Mustang comback fell short as they allowed 14 runs and fell in game one.
The Mustangs were determined to make game two a better story. However, their comeback came up just short again, this time losing 10-9. Nate O'Donnell (FR, North Penn) struggled in his pitching debut, but made up for it batting with 2 R and 1 RBI. Mike Kelly (FR, Pope John Paul) had 1 RBI and 2 R on 3 hits.
These two losses make the EPAC championship a very uphill battle for the Mustangs, who fall to 2-3 in the EPAC. Next on the schedule is a makeup game against County College of Morris on Monday.
