Mustangs Walk It Off in Home Opener

It came down to the wire on Tuesday, as Montgomery County Community College grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 10-9, over Lehigh Carbon Community College. The game was tied at nine in the bottom of the ninth when Chris Tomlinson doubled, scoring one run. 

Bats blistered as Montgomery County Community College collected 17 hits and Lehigh Carbon Community College tallied 14 in the high-scoring game. 

Lehigh Carbon Community College opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Lehigh Carbon Community College first got on the board when T Shifflett singled, scoring one run. 

Montgomery County Community College flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 5-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by John Dzielawa that drove in two. 

Lehigh Carbon Community College tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a ground out by N Rush, and a solo home run to left field by R Behrens. 

In the bottom of the sixth, Montgomery County Community College broke up the tie when Leaf Moylan singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Adam Rodriguez followed to exted the lead to 8-5.

Lehigh Carbon Community College tied the game in the top of the eighth thanks to an error, and a steal of home by C Harold. 

Liam O'Leary stepped on the mound first for Montgomery County Community College. The righty allowed eight hits and five runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out nine and walking four. B Boyer took the loss for Lehigh Carbon Community College. The reliever went three innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out three and walking one. J Click led things off on the bump for Lehigh Carbon Community College. He allowed eight hits and five runs ( zero earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking three. Evan Winebug pitched one innning of zero-run ball for Montgomery County Community College in relief. The reliever allowed one hit, striking out none and walking none. 

Montgomery County Community College tallied 17 hits in the game. Peyton Borchelt and Chris Tomlinson each collected three hits for Montgomery County Community College. Rodriguez, Borchelt, Moylan, and Dzielawa each drove in two runs for Montgomery County Community College. Brenden Chychota collected two hits for Montgomery County Community Collegein three at bats.
