Montgomery Falls to Mighty Oaks in Offensive Battle 14-11

Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but Montgomery County Community College fell to Salem Community Colege 14-11 on Wednesday. Salem Community College collected 12 hits, while Montgomery County Community College had eight. Salem Community College rallied for the victory despite trailing 5-0 in the third inning. 

Montgomery County got on the board in the second inning after Liam O'Leary grounded out, scoring one run. The Mustangs would add to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after John Dzielawa hit into a fielders choice, Peyton Borchelt hit into a fielders choice, O'Leary grounded out, and Chris Tomlinson doubled, each scoring one run. 

Salem Community College tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a ground out by Hunter Cohen, a single by Yenuelle Rodriguez, a triple by Matt Murphy, and a single by Angel Velez.

A fielders choice by O'Leary gave Montco back the lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the fifth. 

Yenuelle Rodriguez hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Salem Community College tie the game at six in top of the sixth.

A single by Dzielawa gave Montgomery County Community College the lead, 8-6, in the bottom of the sixth.

Salem Community College took the lead in the top of eighth inning after Nick Ciesielka doubled, and Montgomery County committed an error, each scoring two runs. 

Adam Rodriguez hit a sacrifice fly which helped Montgomery County tie the game at 10 in the bottom of the eighth. 

Salem would capture the lead 14-10 in the top of the ninth after Hunter Cohen hit into a fielders choice, Rodriguez singled, Demetrius DeRamus walked, and Murphy grounded out, each scoring one run. 

Liam O'Leary lead Montgomery County with four runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. Charlie Levy led the Mustangs with three hits in five at bats. Peyton Borchelt collected two in four at bats and Brenden Chychota led Montgomery County with two walks. Overall the Mustangs had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. 

Montgomery County is back in action on Tuesday April 16th when they host Middlesex at 3:30 pm.
