Montco Dominates Phantoms 30-0 and 14-1

Game 1

Charlie Levy drove in four runs on three hits to lead Montgomery County Community College past Delaware County Community College 30-0 on Saturday. Levy singled in the third scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and singled in the second scoring one. 

Liam O'Leary struck out 17 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also surrendered zero hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking three.

Montgomery County opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to three singles. Montco first got on the board when Levy singled, scoring one run. 

A single by Levy, a single by Mike Greco, and a double by Adam Rodriguez helped Montgomery County externd their early lead in the second. Montco scored nine runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. Levy singled, scoring two runs, Greco grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run, O'Leary doubled,scoring four runs, and Chris Tomlinson doubled, scoring one run. 

The Mustangs would score seven runs on three hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Ted Mensah singled, scoring one run, O'Leary singled, scoring one run. Alex Edelstein grounded out, scoring one run, an erros scored one run, Mitchell Barajas drew a walk, scoring one run, and James Fullan singled, scoring two runs.

Montco collected 19 hits in the game. O'Leary lead the Mustangs with five runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. He went 3-for-5 on the day. O'Leary and Levy each collected three hits for Montco. Mike Greco, Jimmy Marino, Adam Rodriguez, and Chris Tomlinson each collected multiple hits for the Mustangs. Levy paced Montco with two walks. Overall the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Levy and Tomlinson each stole multiple bases, helping the Mustangs run wild on the base paths, amassing eight stolen bases for the game.

Game 2

Charlie Levy drove in five runs on three hits to lead Montgomery County past Delaware County 14-1 on Saturday. Levy doubled in the second scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, doubled in the fifth scoring one, and hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth scoring one. 

The Mustangs got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Levy singled, and Delaware County committed an error, each scoring one run. Montco scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. Levy doubled, scoring two runs, Mike Greco doubled, scoring one run, Nick Lanier singled, scoring one run, Adam Rodriguez doubled, scoring one run, and John Dzielawa singled, scoring one run. The Mustangs woud tack on one run in the third. Chris Tomlinson hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 9-0. 

Gregg Hanson earned the win for the Mustangs. The right handed pitcher gave up three hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking two. Lucas Shaffert threw two innings of shutout ball for Montco in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.

The Mustangs piled up 14 hits in the game. Greco and Levy were a foce together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Montco while hitting back-to-back. Peyton Borchelt, Tomlinsojn, and Lanier each collected multiple hits for the Mustangs. Borchelt and Tomlinson each stole multiple bases for Montgomery County.
