Mechanics Defeat Mustangs in Non-Conference Match Up

The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men’s basketball team fell to the Williamson Free School Mechanics Wednesday night.

The Mechanics jumped out to an early lead and held their advantage with solid defensive play against the Mustangs’ typically high-scoring forwards. By the end of the first half the Mustangs were able to put away only 12 points while the Mechanics ran their score up to 45.

Entering the second half the Mustangs were unable to make up ground against the Mechanics, who continued to play a tight defense and an aggressive offense. The Mechanics were able to pull ahead further ultimately doling out to the Mustangs a 32-77 loss.

Leading the Mustangs in points for the evening were Kenny Walton (Plymouth Whitemarsh) with 10 points and Michael Acquaviva (Germantown) with 8.

The loss is the Mustangs’ second of the season, bringing their overall record to 9-2. The Mustangs remain undefeated in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference with a record of 8-0.
