Mustangs Shut Down Centurions 98-60

Newtown, Pa. – The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men’s basketball team handed the Bucks County Community College Centurions a hefty loss Tuesday Jan. 19, 2010. 

The Mustangs opened the game with a 13-2 lead and dominated the first half, expanding their lead to 19-4, then 27-8, and ultimately 51-21 by half time. 

“We did a great job executing our game plan early in the first half,” said Mustangs Head Coach Denny Surovec. “Our guys played hard and were unselfish all night.” 

In the second half the Mustangs’ domination continued as Coach Surovec rotated in his entire 14-man squad, 12 of whom contributed points to the 38 point win. Adam Jones (North Penn) led the Mustangs in points with 24, followed by Kenny Walton (Germantown) with 10. Tabias Thompson (PET Charter) notched 12 rebounds in the game. At the final buzzer the Mustangs took home a 98-60 victory over the Centurions. 

The Mustangs are now 15-4 overall and 13-1 in the EPCC. Next, the team will host the Reading Area Community College Ravens at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 21, 2010.
