Men's Basketball Tops Stevens
Lancaster, Pa. � The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men�s basketball team defeated the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology Bulldogs 80-68 on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011.
The Mustangs dominated the Bulldogs from the start, getting out to a 41-28 lead by half time. The Mustangs defense was especially tight, keeping the Bulldogs to a fg shooting percentage of 20% in the first half, and 30% overall.
Mustangs Head Coach Denny Surovec commented on the defensive strength of his squad. �We were a little out of sync on offense tonight, but our defense carried us. This was a good win against a really good team.�
On the attack Joshua Ingram led the Mustangs with 17 points, followed by Nick Roman with 15, Ryan Getson with 14 and Dan Drennen with 12. Phillip Michaels led the team in rebounds with eight, followed by Adam Jones with seven and Drennen with six. Jones also scored nine points and he and teammate Getson earned three steals apiece.
The Mustangs are now 22-3 overall, 14-2 in the EPCC.
