Mustangs Defeat Vikings 79-72
Toms River, N.J. - The nationally ranked 13 Ocean County College Vikings men's basketball team fell to the Montgomery County Community College Mustangs 79-72 Thursday.
The Mustangs stepped onto the court with confidence, running up an 18-4 lead to open the game. The Vikings slowly closed the gap, but still trailed 41-33 at half time. In the second half the Mustangs were able to hold off the nationally ranked squad to garner a 79-72 victory.
Sophomore Jeff Hurst led the Mustangs with 18 points, followed by Shaquille Graham with 16, Rasahn Brinkley with 12, Jah'lil Williams with 11 and Darnell Clowney with 10. Brinkley and Williams led the team in rebounds with nine and eight respectively. Brinkley also came up with five steals in the win.
Mustangs Head Coach Denny Surovec applauded the effort of his team. "This was a solid road win against a very good team. Our guys did a good job of executing early in the game and played hard all night."
