Game Recap: Men's Basketball Tops Cougars 88-80

The Montgomery County Community College men's basketball team defeated the Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougars 88-80 Tuesday.

The Mustangs played a strong first half, outscoring the Cougars 38-30 and outplaying them on the boards with 27 rebounds to the Cougars' 19. In the second half both teams vevved up their scoring power, totaling 50 points each. The effort was a good comeback from the Cougars, but not enough to steal the win.

Sophomore Ron Melton led the Mustangs offensively with 22 points. Following him was sophomore Dexter Shy, and freshmen Steve Kulp and Marquis McClam with 10 points each. Freshman Jalil Shafi led the team in rebounds with 11, followed by Kulp with eight. Sophomore Tre Budd tallied five assists in the win. Overall, the win showed a solid team effort on the Mustangs' behalf, including a cumulative 73.0% shooting average on free throws.

Next the Mustangs will travel to Northampton Community College on Tuesday, Nov. 19th to take on the Spartans.
