Game Recap: Mustangs Defeat Bulldogs 85-77

The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men's basketball team hit the road Thursday night, to take on the Bulldogs of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

The Mustangs and the Bulldogs battled in a close match-up during the first half of the game, resulting in a 38-30 lead for the Mustangs going into the second half. The battle carried on after the break until the Bulldogs rallied, earning nine second-half three-pointers and taking a five point lead with 4:00 left in play. But the Mustangs fought back with a 19-6 run to end the game in an 85-77 win over the Bulldogs.

Mustangs Assistant Coach Patrick Boylan was proud of his team's effort. "We struggled at times, but showed perseverance and toughness when it mattered most."

Sophomore Ron Melton led the Mustangs with 28 points, followed by sophomore Tre Budd with 11. Freshman Alex Brown played a well-rounded game, totaling nine points, 13 assists and four steals. Freshman Steve Kulp also made a strong contribution with eight points and nine rebounds.

The Mustangs are now 6-3 overall, 4-1 in Region 19, and 5-1 in the EPAC. Next the Mustangs play at Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday, Dec. 14th at 3:00 p.m.
