Men's Basketball Can't Finish Off Stevens In First Loss Of The Season

Men's basketball continued their home stretch with a game against Steven's College of Technology on Saturday. The Mustangs were looking to go 3-0 before their first road game, but Stevens came ready to play as well.

The lead traded hands a bit in the beginning, before Stevens grabbed a 1-point lead heading into halftime. The Bulldogs built on that lead in the second half. Finally in the last five minutes of the game, the Mustangs began to pull it together and, despite a few mistakes and turnovers, had managed to bring the game back to a one-possesion game with a little over a minute to go. Unfortunately, Motgomery was unable to complete their comeback and fell, 99-94.

Brandon Hooks (FR, PA Cyber Charter School) led the Mustangs in scoring with 28 points and ultimately came one rebound short of a double-double. Jordan Wright (FR, Harriton), the team's leader in assists and steals, came off the bench and added to his assist and steal totals for the year, with 11 and 4 respectively.

The Mustangs will now start their six game road stretch when they take on Luzerne County Community College on Tuesday.
