Men's Basketball Earns EPAC Honors in 2021

We at Mustang's Athletics would like to take the time to recognize the outstanding performance of two of our Men's Basketball student-athletes last fall. Two of our shining athletes earned the honor of EPAC Player of the Week and we would like to recognize their achievements now!

 

Sophomore Nigel Cooke was named EPAC Player of the Week on November 22nd, 2021, after stellar performances against our conference rivals. Nigel's outstanding play helped cement three important victories over Community College of Philadelphia, Sussex County Community College, and Northampton Community College. Across the week Cooke averaged 17.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2 steals. Nigel's greatest performance of the week was on the road against Northampton where Nigel scored 20 points, blocked 2 goals, had 6 assists, and 7 rebounds!

 

Cooke enters the second half of the season leading the Mustangs in three point baskets with 21, assists with 52, steals with 16, and has the second highest total points with 193, 

Freshman Matt Compas was named EPAC Player of the Week on December 6th, 2021, after a captivating performance at the Rowan College of South Jersey Roadrunner Classic. Compas earned the title of Tournament MVP after averaging 19 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3 assists in the Mustangs two games. Matt was instrumental in our victories; his team leading scoring cemented the Mustang's as the Champions of the Roadrunner Classic.

Compas currently leads the Mustangs in Points with 221 on the season. Matt also is tied for most blocks on the season with a total of 10! His performance in the coming weeks will be essential to the Mustang's success as we look to start the new strong!
