Men's Basketball Crowned EPAC Regular Season Champions

The Montgomery County Community College Men's team clinched their second EPAC Conference Title in the last three years, with a 96-65 win over Lehigh Carbon Community College. From start to finish, the Mustangs dominated the game on both ends, picking up their 21st win of the season and extending their winning streak to 11 games.

The Mustangs have been rolling all season as they sit at 21-1 on the season and 13-1 in conference play, earning them the EPAC Conference Title – the first under first-year head coach Koran Prince. Montco got going early in the matchup against Lehigh Carbon, going up 49-27 in the first half and never looking back.

Baasil Saunders dropped 18 points in the win, including three made 3-pointers, his highest mark of the season thus far. Cris Dinolfi finished with 15 points, also knocking down three 3-pointers, to go along with 4 assists and 2 steals. Sean Emfinger totaled 14 points on an efficient 4-5 from the field, and added 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks in the contest.

The Mustangs' chemistry on the court has been growing all season, and with the regular season coming to an end, they've clinched yet another EPAC title. Forward Sean Emfinger has put up big numbers in 10 games with the Mustangs, averaging 17.7 points on 56% from the field, along with 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. Guard Cris Dinolfi is second in points per game for the Mustangs, putting up 14.0 points as well as 1.7 steals per game, while shooting 46% from the field. Brandon Bush and Baasil Saunders have also put up numbers all season for Montco, with Bush putting up 13.7 points on an efficient 55.5% from the field, coupled with 7.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. Saunders has given the Mustangs 13.0 points per game on 50.7% shooting and grabbing 7.5 boards per game.

Montco will look to finish out the season strong, with four straight home games to cap off the regular season. Their next matchup is a 2 p.m. game against Bergen Community College, where Montco will have the chance to extend their win streak to 12 games.
