Ravens Slide Past Mustangs

Confident from a 3-0 win over the Reading Area Community College Ravens earlier in the season, the Montgomery County Community College Mustangs anticipated a repeat performance in their second match up with the team. But the Ravens threw the Mustangs a curve ball jumping out to a 2-0 lead off two goals from Ravens forward Mickey Hettrick.

Focused on depleting the Ravens’ advantage, the Mustangs pushed up freshman midfielder Ahmed Faik (Upper Dublin), who tied up the score within six minutes of Hettrick’s second goal. With two goals apiece, both teams entered the second half with intense offensive drive. Missing a number of scoring chances at both ends of the field, the teams whittled down the clock until the Ravens finally slipped one past the Mustangs goal keeper with only seven minutes left in the game. The Mustangs pressured the Ravens looking for retribution, but were unable to find the back of the net. The score at the end of the game was Mustangs 2, Ravens 3. This loss brings the Mustangs record to 10-5.
