Men's Soccer Push Past Ravens For Five In A Row
Montgomery County Community College men’s soccer Coach Andy Kelly led his team to another victory Thursday as the Mustangs shut out the Reading Area Community College Ravens 3-0. This brings the Mustangs’ record to 5-1.
At the start of the game both the Mustangs and Ravens exploded onto the field with intense offensive drives and tight defensive play. After 35 minutes of high-caliber soccer action neither team was able to convert a goal.
But Coach Kelly made some wise half-time adjustments, which enabled the Mustangs to pull ahead. Early in the second half Mustangs freshman Nick Cappa put one away on a direct kick from inside the box. Minutes later freshman forward Tom Dempsey gave the Mustangs a 2-0 lead with a converted pass from freshman Ryan Nelson. The offensive pounding reached its culmination with a final Mustangs goal scored off a header from sophomore midfielder Tito Agauiby.
