Men's Soccer Falls to Owls
Cranford, N.J. - The Union County College Owls, defending National Junior College Athletic Association Champions, defeated the Montgomery County Community College Mustangs 1-0 on Sept. 23, 2010.
The game remained scoreless for most of the first half until Oumar Barro scored for the Owls in the 25th minute.
The Mustangs had an excellent defensive game, preventing the Owls from scoring on all but one of their 25 shots. Goalkeeper Phil Martin recorded 14 saves in the effort.
On offensive the Mustangs were able to work the ball up the field a number of times to total seven shots in the game. In the final minute, a shot from Jay Natale almost tied it up with a blazing ball that hit the right post.
The Mustangs are now 2-5-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the NJCAA Region XIX DIII.
