Men's Soccer: Tough opening road loss

Vineland, NJ- The Mustangs Men's Soccer team opened its 2016 season with a close 0-1 road loss to the Dukes of Cumberland County College. Defender Igor McVeagh (Flourtown/Springfield Twp. HS) with 5 shots and mid-fielder Mena Melika (Hatfield/North Penn HS) with 4 were the only two Mustangs to provide shots. Goal keeper Aaron Williams had 2 saves in the game.

Coach Haney said of the game "This was the first time the 2016 Mustangs competed together as a team.  Having only 2 players return from last year's team made it very difficult to find any rhythm or chemistry on the field.  However, the team played hard and never let down throughout the 90 minutes.  We have a lot of work ahead of us to become a confident and successful team.  The challenge will be having very few training sessions between the busy game schedule.  I believe this is a challenge my players will accept."

Coach Haney and the Mustangs will return to action on Thursday at Lehigh Carbon County College at 3:30PM.

The Mustangs are members of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX and the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC). Fans are encouraged to follow the Mustangs on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/MC3Mustangs and Twitter https://twitter.com/MC3Mustangs.
