Men's Soccer: Defeated by Lehigh Carbon County College

Schnecksville, PA- The Mustangs Men's Soccer team was defeated 1-4 to the Cougars of Lehigh Carbon County College. The lone goal for the Mustangs was shot by sophomore defender Igor McVeagh (Flourtown/Springfield Twp. HS).

Coach Haney said of his team "The players showed their inexperience throughout this match.  The team consistently breaks down with defensive responsibilities and forces the play offensively.  We started the game with some good passing but eventually played Lehigh's style of bang the ball and chase.  With the inexperience of our players we need to play as a unit both defensively and offensively to have a chance to be successful.  It absolutely did not happen in this game.  On the positive side, I am very proud of my players as they showed some great restraint for not retaliating against some cheap fouls.  Lehigh's 4 yellow cards and 1 red card demonstrate the game environment. They represented Montgomery CCC with class."

Coach Haney and the Mustangs will return to action on Tuesday, September 6 for their season home opener against the Phantoms of Delaware County Community College, 3:30PM.

The Mustangs are members of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX and the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC). Fans are encouraged to follow the Mustangs on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/MC3Mustangs and Twitter https://twitter.com/MC3Mustangs.
