Men's Soccer Starts Season 2-0

This year's home opener for the men's soccer team took place at the Ukranian American Soccer Complex. Their opponent was a formidable Lehigh Carbon Community College team.

The first half showcased some impressive defense. Starting center backs Paul Traore (Norristown, PA) and Jacthan Alcazar (FR, Norristown) made sure that no one broke throught the Mustang back line. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw.

Then, late in the second half, a Lehigh Carbon Community College athlete put the ball in the back of the net. Knowing that they had to respond, the Mustangs picked up the pace. Finally, a free kick gave Mustangs a great opportunity and Chakubuta Tuhenya (FR, Springfield) finished the opportunity to tie the game in the 83rd minute.

Several off the field incidents after that goal led to the game being ended early and several cards being given out. A later ruling gave the Mustangs a win, improving them to 2-0 for the season.

Next on the schedule for the Mustangs is Delaware County Community College on Tuesday.
