Men's Soccer Can't Overcome Weak First Half
Men's soccer traveled to the Proving Grounds on Tuesday to take on their rival Bucks County Community College.
Bucks brought a formidable roster to the field and it showed early, when they scored two goals in the first 16 minutes. Montgomery woke up for a while and put together a much better defense, but they couldn't hold off the centurions forever. Bucks grabbed another goal before the end of the first half and kept a 3-0 lead.
The second half was much better for the Mustangs, who showed signs of life late in the game. However, even with a few close shots, they were unable to score and, despite holding the Centurions to no goals in the second half, they ultimately fell 3-0.
This brings the Mustangs to 2-2-1 despite starting the season 2-0-1. Edward Mincarelli (SO) had 4 shots in his first game back from last season. Elias Gehman (Christopher Dock), another sophomore, had 4 shots and 1 shot on goal.
Men's soccer will get a four-day break before their rematch against Lehigh Carbon Community College. In their previous matchup, Lehigh Carbon was forced to forfeit the game with the score tied 1-1, so that should be a good matchup.
