Game Recap: Women's Basketball Loses Two in a Row

The Montgomery  County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team lost two NJCAA Region XIX road games this week.

The Mustangs first took on the Buccaneers of Atlantic Cape Community College Tuesday evening. The game was tight until the last three minutes when the Buccaneers pulled ahead to defeat the Mustangs 54-43.

Freshman Ashley Waters tallied 13 points, followed by sophomore Amelia Stockman who earned 12. Mallory Mugnier and Dayna McCrewell rounded out top scoring for the Mustangs with seven points each.

Two nights later the Mustangs traveled to Middlesex County College, where they lost again 54-43 to the Colts. More of the same for the Mustangs, the game lead was traded back and forth until the last three minutes when the Colts were able to pull ahead for the win.

Muginer racked up 14 points, five rebounds and two blocks, while freshman Francesca Monterosso totaled 10 points. McCrewell also contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds.

The Mustangs play next at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 11 at Delaware County Community College.
