The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team lost an intensely fought game 48-56 to the Buccaneers of Atlantic Cape Community College.
After a strong 13-0 opening from the Buccaneers, the Mustangs closed the gap and the two teams traded the lead a dozen times during the course of the game. A six point run in the last three minutes of the game gave the Buccaneers the advantage they needed to steal the win.
For the Mustangs Mallory Mugnier led with 18 points, followed by Amelia Stockman with 14 and Francesca Monterosso with 11. Dayna McCrewell led the team on defense with an astounding 19 rebounds during the game. She also led with four assists. Also contributing rebounds was Mugnier with nine and Stockman with seven.
