Game Recap: Dukes Top Mustangs 83-49

The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball lost 49-83 to the Dukes of Cumberland County College Thursday night. 

The Dukes ran up an 8-2 lead off the opening tipoff but the Mustangs were able to keep pace, staying within six for the first half of the period. Three-pointers from Francesca Monterosso helped the Mustangs out, sending the team into half time trailing 32-38.

In the second half the Dukes scored six quick points within the first minute of play. The Mustangs tried to recover but the Dukes used a full court press to exhaust the team. The Dukes ultimately took home the 83-49 win.

Amelia Stockman led the Mustangs with 18 points, followed by Mugnier with 12. Dayna McCrewell led in rebounds with nine, followed by Stockman with seven and Mugnier with four. McCrewell also racked up four assists in the effort.
