Game Recap: Vikings Top Mustangs 61-51

The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team lost 51-61 to the Vikings of Ocean County College Saturday.

The teams battled a close match up for the entire game. At half time the Mustangs found themselves down by five, trailing the Vikings 20-25. The Mustangs had similar luck in the second half of the game, also falling behind in scoring by five points to bring the final deficit to 10. Ultimately the game went to the Vikings for the 61-51 win.

Freshman Mallory Mugnier led the Mustangs with 26 points, followed by Dayna McCrewell with 13 and Amelia Stockman with 10.

"We played a close game but couldn't seal the deal," commented Mustangs Head Coach Kelly Donohue. "Everyone played well. Noteworthy was Steph Martinez' performance. She was really solid on defense."
