Game Recap: Mustangs Capture First Win of the Season

The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team defeated the Trojans of Valley Forge Military College 70-24 Thursday.

The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, outscoring the Trojans 41-16 in the first half. In the second half the Mustangs played an outstanding defense, allowing the Trojans to collect only eight points.

Leading the team was freshman Chloe Long with 24 points, followed by Bryanna Lacey with 15 points and four rebounds. Also noteworthy were performances by Tiasia Feilds, who notched nine points and seven assists and Lina Sirak, who racked up eight points, eight rebounds and five assists. Freshman Morgan Sauermann also played well with eight points and four assists for the evening.

"We played as a team tonight," commnented Head Coach Kelly Dunbar on the team's first win of the season. "I am really proud of their effort."

The Mustangs are now 1-2-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the NJCAA Region XIX conference. Next they face off against Northampton Community College at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 19th.
