Women's Basketball: Roadrunners Run Away with the Win

Sewell, NJ: The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team was defeated 70-42 Thursday by the Roadrunners of Rowan College in a non-conference game.

The Roadrunners jumped out to an early lead and the Mustangs faced a 42-14 deficit at halftime. In the second half, the Mustangs made successful adjustments as they they matched Rowan's 28 points. However, they needed more than that to overcome the gap from the first half, allowing  the Roadrunners ran away with the win.

Freshman forward Mechiah Brant (Pottstown/ Owen J Roberts) led the Mustangs with 10 points. Freshmen forwards Linda Sobeck (King of Prussia/ Upper Merion) also contributed 9 points, as well as Dejah China's (Elkins Park/ Cheltenham) 8.

The Mustangs, who are now 5-9 overall and 3-2 in EPAC play. The Mustangs will play away on Tuesday, January 24 against the Colonial Phils of Philadelphia Community College in a non-conference game. Tip-off is at 5:00pm. The Mustangs are members of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX and the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC).
