Women's Basketball Impresses In Win Against Harrisburg
After a long road stretch, the women's basketball team was excited to get back home for a matchup agains the Harrisburg Area Community College Hawks. The team was looking to build off of the momentum they gained in their win against Lehigh Carbon, so this home game was an important opportunity for them.
They capitalized off of the home crowd by jumping to a big lead early on. They continued to build that lead well into the second quarter and led the Hawks by 14 at half.
The third quarter was when Harrisburg finally made a push, cutting the Mustang lead to only 6. The Hawks would not give up, and fought tooth and nail to stay in the game. But Montgomery did not ease up either, battling right with them. Thanks to great rebounding and some clutch shooting, the Mustangs finished with a 60-69 win.
Taylor Keys (SO, Berks Catholic) continues to dominate in the Mustangs' system, getting her third double-double of the season with 16 rebounds and 26 points. Caitlin Wallace (FR, Cheltenham) also grabbed her first double-double of the season with 10 rebounds and 23 points.
The Mustangs will head back on the road for the next game as they travel to Northampton Community College to take on the Spartans.
