7th Seeded Mustangs Fall to 2nd Seeded CCP in Regional Tournament
This week, the NJCAA Region XIX seedings were announced for Division III women's basketball. The Mustangs knew they were going to have an uphill battle when it was announced that they were seeded 7th, the lowest seed in the region.
The first step in their playoff story was to face off agains the second seeded Community College of Philadelphia Colonials. The Mustangs were ready to fight for their playoff lives on Saturday.
Despite losing to the Colonials in their previous two matchups, the Mustangs came out strong and only trailed by 2 points at halftime. However, CCP took over the second half and ended the Mustangs season with a 70-55 final score.
Fittingly, Taylor Keys (SO, Berks Catholic) ended the season with a double-double and led the Mustangs in scoring with 25. Caitlin Wallace (FR, Cheltenham) recorded 13 points and Constance Stine (SO, Spring-Ford) had 13 rebounds.
Even though the women were unable to make it out of the first round, we're incredibly proud of the success that the team had this season! Good luck to all our Sophomores as they move on!
