Mustangs Take down Passaic 59-49

The Montco Women's basketball team improved to 7-4 after Saturday's win over Passaic County Community College. The Mustangs traveled to Passaic County for a 12 p.m. start time against Passaic County on Saturday, January 27th with hopes to pick up their third win out of their last four games, and got the job done. After allowing only 17 points in the first half, Montco held a 10 point lead going into the third quarter. An explosive 22-point third quarter put the Mustangs up by 20 points, a lead that was too big a deficit for Passaic County to overcome in the end. The game ended with a final score of 59-49, making it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Freshman Koumba Soussa dropped her second straight 21-point game, adding 13 rebounds, 3 steals, and 4 blocks, going 8-13 from the field. Rachel Dunn was a rebound shy of a double-double, dumping in 15 points (6-10 FG) and 9 rebounds, while Aniya Boland put up 13 points (6-13 FG), 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in the contest.

The Mustangs will look to tack on their third straight win in a Monday night matchup against Ocean County College (1-12), an away game beginning at 5 P.M. The Mustangs' next home game will take place on Thursday, February 8th at 5 P.M. vs Lehigh Carbon Community College.
