Bowe Leads Seahawks to Victory Over Mustangs
North East, M.D. � The Cecil County College Seahawks were too much for the Montgomery County Community College Mustangs in the 5-1 game on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010.
Led by two goals from sophomore Kyrie Bowe, the Seahawks took a 2-0 lead in the first half. The Mustangs fought back with a goal by Malorie Waters at 27:52 to bring the game within one, but the Seahawks recovered their two goal cushion by halftime.
Going into the second half with a 3-1 lead, the Seahawks continued to pressure the Mustangs� goal. Just over ten minutes into play, Bowe knocked in another goal, securing her hat trick for the evening and widening the Seahawks� lead further.
Teammates Megan Doran, Carla Sirak and Jeannine Mason worked together to lead the Mustangs to overcome the deficit, but the effort was not enough. With a final goal at 69:25, the Seahawks landed a 5-1 victory over the Mustangs.
The Mustangs are now 1-3 overall, 1-2 NJCAA RXIX Division III. Next the Mustangs women�s soccer team will travel to Buck County Community College on Tuesday, Sept. 14. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
