Women's Soccer Prevails Over Dukes
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs won 2-1 over the Cumberland County College Dukes on Oct. 6, 2010.
Megan Doran sparked a furious second half comeback to lead the Mustangs past the Dukes of Cumberland County. The first half saw a controversy when Doran scored about 13 minutes in, only to have the goal waved off by the referee due to an offsides call. The call shook the Mustangs who allowed the Dukes to score four minutes later as they slipped one past Mustangs goalie Mary Grace Lux.
But the second half was all Mustangs, led by an energized Doran, who dribbled past three defenders from the 25 to beat the Dukes goalkeeper in a 1-v-1 in the 68th minute of the game. Eight minutes later Doran scored on another breakaway off a pass from Lux. Goalkeeper Lux now has two assists this season.
