Mason, Doran Earn NJCAA All-Region Honors
Blue Bell, Pa. � The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Region XIX member institutions voted to give All-Region recognition to two athletes from the Montgomery County Community College women�s soccer team.
Sophomore forward Jeannine Mason was named to the NJCAA Division III Region XIX All-Region Second Team and sophomore midfielder Megan Doran was named to the All-Region Third Team.
This is Mason�s second All-Region award in her two-year athletic career with the Mustangs. Last season she was named to the Region�s First Team with ten goals and ten assists, earning a total of 30 points. This year Mason notched nine goals and led her team with 15 assists, to rack up 33 points. She led the Mustangs and was ranked 5th in Region XIX and 33rd nationally in points. During her two-year athletic career as a Mustang, Mason accumulated 63 points from 19 goals and 25 assists.
As a midfielder, Doran garnered the attention of Region XIX coaches with her aggressive play and strong defensive contributions. She also bolstered the Mustangs� offense with six goals and three assists. Her efforts earned her a spot on the All-Region Third Team, as Doran follows in the footsteps of her sister Stephanie Doran who was named to the All-Region Second Team in 2009.
