Saturday's Volleyball Match Ends in a Victory for the Mustangs

Montgomery planned to play a tri-match on Saturday against Lehigh Carbon and Community College of Phildelphia. However, Philadelphia pulled out of the matches on Saturday morning, so Montgomery and Lehigh started the first and only match for that day. The two teams played on September 13th at Lehigh and Montgomery came away with a 3-1 victory that time. However, the Cougars came to play and were looking to pull off the upset.

For the second match in a row, the Mustangs had a slow start. Lehigh Carbon would pull away late in the first set and take it 25-21. However, Montgomery began to get into their own rhythm as the match went on. The second set ended in a 25-18 win for the Mustangs, despite another early lead for the Cougars.

In the third and the fourth sets Montgomery got back to their full force. They would take both of the last two sets 25-14 and 25-9.

This win gives the Mustangs their third straight win. All three games over that stretch have been conference games as well, boosting their EPAC record to 8-2 (9-3 overall). Montgomery is an undefeated 5-0 at home this season with only three more home matches to go.

Next, volleyball will travel to Lackawanna College on Tuesday for a rematch against the Falcons.
