Volleyball Wins Match at Valley Forge

Volleyball traveled to Valley Forge Military College on Thursday for the last game of the week for any of the Mustang teams. The volleyball team was working off of a 5 game win streak and were looking to make it 6 in a row.

They started off strong with a 25-14 win in the first set. Showing no signs of slowing down, Montgomery took the second set 25-15. The third set saw more of the Mustang bench getting some playing time. VFMC capitalized on their opportunities against some of the Mustang backups and managed to win the third set 25-15.

Not wanting to give any more ground, the Mustangs refocused. The fourth set was much closer than the first two, but the Mustangs seemingly always held control and eventually won 25-20.

This 3-1 win gives the Mustangs a 12-3 record this season. All twelve of their wins have now come from 6-game win streaks, meaning that this win streak ties their season highest. It wouldn't be a Mustang volleyball match without a big game from Miljana Vukoslavovic (SO, Serbia). The sophomore had 11 kills and 14 digs. She also managed to grab 10 assists when she moved to the setter position during the later sets.

They'll look to make it seven in a row and continue their longest win streak of the season on Tuesday, when they invite Luzerne County Community College to the HSC Main Gym.
