In an exciting season opener, Montgomery County Community College's men's soccer team emerged victorious with a hard-fought 2-1 win over RCSJ Cumberland.

Despite conceding an early goal just 11 minutes into the game, the Mustangs showed resilience and composure as they gradually imposed their style of play on the match. Their efforts paid off towards the end of the first half when Chris Simmons found the back of the net for the first goal of the season, assisted by Conner Budniak, leveling the score at 1-1 heading into halftime.

Both teams continued to battle fiercely in the second half, with the game deadlocked until the Mustangs made a crucial breakthrough. Off a corner kick from Conner Budniak, Diego Pineda delivered a decisive strike into the net, securing the game-winning goal.
